General conference is such an amazing time to be uplifted. There were so many great talks its hard to choose our favorite. But here are a few of our favorites. I hope that as you color, have FHE, discuss, or just ponder these messages you can be filled with the light of God. In honor of Robert D. Hales passing I share this quote, “The greatest blessings of general conference come to us after the conference is over. Remember the pattern recorded frequently in scripture: we gather to hear the words of the Lord, and we return to our homes to live them.”

Favorite General Conference Talks

It was hard to find our favorites among conference. Really, I cannot wait to go through and re-read each talk. Here are some talks I really enjoyed as a whole and would like to leave as a reference for the upcoming months. I believe general conference talks are meant to strengthen and uplift us. and these talks were ones I felt were of great reference for the following months.

Elder Stanley G. Ellis – Do We Trust Him? Hard Is Good

This talk discusses the truth that living the gospel and Gods plan is hard and our need to trust God.

Elder W. Craig Zwick – Lord, Wilt Thou Cause That My Eyes May Be Opened

This talk truly exemplifies humility in asking to see as the Lord sees.

Bishop W. Christopher Waddell – Turn to the Lord

This talk can be a great reference when we feel our lifes paths has not turned out the way we anticipated and provides direction in those moments.

Sharon Eubank – Turn On Your Light

This talk is such a wonderful message to the women about their worth and how much they are needed in the church. “Much of the major growth that is coming to the Church in the last days will come because many of the good women of the world … will be drawn to the Church in large numbers. This will happen to the degree that the women of the Church reflect righteousness and articulateness in their lives and to the degree that the women of the Church are seen as distinct and different—in happy ways—from the women of the world.” – President Kimball quoted by Sharon Eubank

Elder John C. Pingree Jr. – I Have a Work for Thee

What a wonderful reminder that we are all needed. The world needs good people. “Some of us question whether Heavenly Father can use us to make important contributions. But remember, He has always used ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things”

Elder Gary E. Stevenson – Spiritual Eclipse

This one discusses how Satan uses distractions to keep us from what is most important.
