This year I am loving the throw backs to traditional Christmas. The antlers, brass bells, green fresh garlands and Scandinavian elements. So this year I put my porch together with a classic feel and fun grouping of wreaths for a whimsical Christmas wreath porch display.

I was looking through my décor and noticed that I had a handful of wreaths from grapevine to magnolia. And the thought popped in my head, that a group of them would be so fun for this year. So read through how I put it together along with more photos at the bottom.

How to Decorate the Christmas Wreaths Porch Display

So how to get started? You will need between 7-11 different wreaths that vary in sizes, shape, and elements. You will want to have some unifying elements between the wreaths whether it be the colors or style.

I placed the wreaths together varying at different heights from my porch using some simple twine. And I made sure that the wreaths slightly overlapped so they could bunch together and wouldn’t spin.

You may want to tack them all together to make sure they stay neatly together as a bunch. You can do this by tying them together behind so the sting holding them together is not seen.

Now you may be wondering why I suggested 7-11 wreaths. Before placing the wreath up you will want to decide if you want the display to be symmetrical or asymmetrical. You will also want to consider your porch size and how this display will look among all the other elements outside your front door.

Here are some wreath ideas if you want to make your own and need a few more:

Feel free to be creative. If you have an asymmetrically doorway and one column you could create a display at the corner and top of the column. If your home is very symmetrical you could use different sized evergreen wreaths with white lights to make your grouping.

However you make your Christmas wreath porch display, tailor it to your existing décor, personal style, and overall theme. And have fun! I would love to see how it turns out. So feel free to use #cjanechristmas and I would be happy to share here and on instagram!  Have a merry merry day!
