Moab in Spring
Every once in a while I find that schedules line up in life. It’s not too often, so when it does I try to take advantage of it. With a work schedule change my husband happened to find himself with five days off in a row! We decided this was a perfect excuse to go on a family vacation. We love our families and most of our vacations are to visit them. Well this trip was purely just to get away and it was amazing. We planned a three-day-trip to Moab, Utah.
My husbands first car, which we still own, is a Jeep so naturally we have been to Moab before. But we hadn’t gone to many of the parks nearby including Arches. We decided we would spend a couple of days in Arches and then maybe go to Canyon lands or Goblin Valley on the last day. We ended spending the entire time at Arches and had so much fun! I would love to go back, even this year.
We ended up staying in a small cabin that was only $40 a night in Moab. It even had a mini fridge and microwave. It also had three beds so it was perfect for our big family. There was also a bunch of dirt, rocks, and grass area that the kids liked to play in during the morning hours. We slept in and then drove the 30 min to Arches National Park.
Going in Spring was really a lovely time. The spring dessert flowers were blossoming and the weather was temperate. We had a bag of snacks and lots of water which really helped keep everyone happy. And really it was a fantastic trip. We even spent some time in Moab shopping at the Rock Shop and tourist stores and eating at Pasta Jays and Love Muffin Café.
During this time I tried really hard to put down my phone, actually not look at my phone for hours. It helped that there wasn’t great service in the park. I felt so free while we laughed and enjoyed the amazing creations of this planet. Our world is amazing and these arch formations took my breath away. Everyday as we drove past the pillars that stood defying gravity my husband and I commented on how amazing of a place this was.
To honor this lovely trip I’ve added a new print to the shop, this water color Eagle. The original is also listed for sale here.
